Dicka dee da dooh da do dooo....

Remember the Crazy Hamster Dance?!?!!?

Well this blog is dedicated to Hamsters!!

Firstly let me say I have never had a hamster - Surprising I know since pets in my life have included a wide variety of birds (Not just your average budgie or canary - though I've had them too!) Chickens, Dogs (of varying shapes and sizes) Cats, Rabbits, Fish... yet never a hamster!!

It has come to my attention that perhaps this is why.....evidentally, they are EVIL...

Thanks has to go to Chris Langeluddecke, who originally posted this pic on his blog (have added a link to his blog on the side - he has some pretty funny stuff!!)

However, if i did have a hamster - I would keep it on my desk at work in one of these...

How awesome is that - and Yes it is for real!! If anyone ever sees one- Birthday present for ME!

Well that's it for me... Happy Hamstering!! Meef!!

These boots were made for walking...

Well, clearly all my boots are made for riding and dancing... not walking!!

But a brave group of people from work are tackling the Oxfam Trailwalking Challenge!! As Fleur is one of the brave few... I've been roped in to be part of the support crew along with a few other brave fellows as pictured below...

Yep, that's us as featured on the gang's very own blog (see new link added under blooger brothers!!)

So far they've managed to give themselves a name - "The grasscutters", set up a blog, attend a drinks night, and climb the stairs at work!! Nah - that's not fair... they have actually started training on weekends as well!! But reality is starting to sink in for the poor things!! If you haven't heard of the challenge....

“Oxfam Trailwalker is the world's greatest team challenge. And it's also one of the toughest. The challenge is to get your team of four across 100km of Australian bush in less than 48 hours - and, collectively, to raise at least $5,000 to help to overcome poverty and suffering around the world.” (www.oxfam.org.au)

Anyways - if feeling sorry for them isn't enough to make you want to sponsor them (see link on their blog!!) do it for me.... I'll be helping out as support crew on the weekend of the walk which happens to be my birthday!! Just one dollar for every time the room spins that Saturday night... and they'll be well on their way!!

I'm not here for your entertainment...

Ahhhhhh.....lets all take a breath...

Work (and my social life!!) has actually slowed down for a bit, giving me a chance to get some well deserved sleep!!

But since pics/stories about me sleeping are not that exciting I'm a little short on news this week!!

The weekend went by pretty uneventful, Ange came out to the ponies with me on Saturday, and Sunday I hung out with Renee for the day at Glenworth and mucked about with Copper - my fave GV pony!!

Washed one and a half of the cars (got bored half way through the Corolla!!) ohhhh... Friday night in a semi drunk state i did get half the ping pong table out and put it up against the wall....pretty sure the neighbours weren't such fans of the pinging and ponging on the wall though!!

In happy news both the ponies appear to have gotten over their leg pains - so hopefully i'll have them back into work this weekend!! Yay!!!!!

Oh well.... hope life is more interesting for everyone else this week!!!

Hugs!!

Love is in the air....

Hee hee... Poor old fatty Blaze has been confined to the laneway.... thus limiting his grass intake (he's determined not to save any for the others!!) and keeping the grass down for us!!

Anyways, the other day when I took all the rugs off them for a few sunny hours, Blaze decided to let me in on his little secret... he and Clover (Renee's horse) are in love!!! Poor old Chino could only stare on as the two got it on (brings a whole new meaning to the term necking!?!?!?) But twas SO cute.

In other news... work has been crazy busy... but hopefully things should quiet down at least a little bit now!! Am looking forward to a quiet weekend... no real plans - just hanging with the ponies at this stage. Started tidying up the study today.... threw out all my old CA notes... YAY!!

And.... Congratulations to Carli-Ma-Gregor on finally becoming an aunty!!! Woo Hoo!!

OOOhhhhh... I finally have somethign for the "Good" list.... Ipod!!!!

I love my Ipod.... and I was really worried about buying one... I had heard so many bad reports about screens cracking and batteries dying.... but mine has been perfect!! And - I would never have got through the last few weeks without it (read.... music cranking the whole way to work every morning to wake me up!!)

Lets get loud....

Friday was "wear a loud shirt to work for charity" day.... and you know me... I don't like to do things by halves.... so although i don't have a pic from Friday.... here is a pic of the offending shirt, which won... yes that right peeps, it won me first place in the loudest shirt comp...not sure wether its a compliment or not... but you know how i like to win!! (luckily the comp was split into boys and girls, as I had NO chance in comparison to Rod... who was rockin his bright orange shirt!!)

Which brings me to an interesting weather condition in Sydney, which could have saved everyone from my loud shirt....

I started to notice something was up when I was finishing up at the ponies last night, if you check out this pic you can see the start of a mist right down in the back paddock...

Now I don't know about you, but one of my fave things at school was the "Hot weather policy" ie... if it gets too hot that you're in danger of becoming at one with the plastic chairs...you can go home....

I would like to bring in the foggy weather policy for work..."if you can't see the city... it's not there... and you therefore don't have to come to work...."

This could have saved me a lot of work today as this was the view as I headed up to the bridge this morning....

Oh yeah... I'm sure the bridge was there somewhere....

Now this is a view I normally reserve for when i look out of a plane!?!?!?!? Never thought I'd be driving through clouds!!

Cool, huh!! (Don't ask how i managed to take those pics while driving.... pretty sure i was getting a few "Blonde driver" comments from other commuters!!)

One final thing... I need to add to the good, bad and ugly list - MYER!!!

Ooooohhhhh ugly!! First rule of customer service.... if you empty the customers hands... they have free hands to BUY MORE STUFF!!!!

I was sent to three different people, before I was finally allowed to plonk down the stuff I wanted to buy, while i tried on a few other bits and pieces (Notice how they are always happy to take the stuff you don't want as soon as you leave the change room though!?!?!?).... now normally that would just be bad... BUT i really wanted a particular Cue shirt only they didn't have it in my size, and NO one offered to help me, I finally went to the Cue shop itself (who also didn't have the shirt), but they at least told me Myer in the city had the shirt in my size. So Beck (under duress!!) and myself headed there at lunch today, only to find no such shirt on the shelf, they tried to sell me it in all other colors (including some HIDEOUS floral prints ICK!!) before finally conceding they had one in storage, but it would take them 5 mins to get it....15 mins later they finally return, drag me to two different counters, before finally I get to walk away with the shirt. Got home tonight to try it on.... hmmmm... feels a bit heavey....oooohhhh EXCELLENT... they left the security tag on!!!! This seasons fashion accessory must have!! Grrrrrrrr...... did i mention they also canned fly buys!!! NOT HAPPY MYER!!

Little feet taking big steps...

Saturday night a group of us volunteered ourselves to be StillbirthStars at the 2nd annual Stillbirth Foundation Charity Ball.

It didn't take much convincing when I heard that I'd get to wear a sash all night!! And a chance to get dressed up (something sadly missed since leaving behind all the black tie do's from EY!!)

It was a really great night and we helped to raise over $100,000!! A huge effort!!

I've added a link to the side for anyone interested in checking out the charity... a really worthy cause, run by lovely people (hee hee - See Chris in blog below!!) but in the mean time some pics of us in our fancy pants out fits!!!
Beck, Charmaine and Me!!
Beck, Mina and Charmaine... and Ange!!
Special thanks to Mags and Mel for helping out at the last minute!!

Simply the Best...

Yesterday was the BEST day ever!!! (well at least for a very long time!!)

It all started with a seat on the bus!! Yay - these have been getting harder and harder to come by!! And - we had a special mufti day... which meant i could show off my new shoes that I am in LOVE with!!

I got to work to find...
-An email from Aunty Em with the travel plans for our Paris stop over... sounds just so awesome... I was sitting in shock from the excitement!!
- An email from Rob - who i hadn't heard from in a week
- Money in our bank account
- Reimbursement for my car parking... free monies
- A new entry on my bro's blog that cracked me up!!!

Then - the computers crashed - so we couldn't do any work... so we sat around being stupid, until we got so noisy that they sent us off for an early lunch...was just like being at school again!!!

Beck and I decided to go shopping as I needed to get a dress for tomorrow night... I didn't honestly believe I would find one I liked so quickly, and even better it was half price in the sale!!
But, oh no... it doesn't stop there... it scanned at just $23 - Jammy!!!

Eventually got back to work - where the system was back up!! By this point we all had internet withdrawl, so we were glad to have it back... we then debated if Steph H is really too young for our mate Paul (28!!).. and i think somewhere along the way we did some work!!

But we packed up for our team dinner and headed down to the Lord Nelson for a few drinks!! This was the beginning of one of the funniest nights I've had in the longest time... we had an awesome three course dinner and a little too much wine, before heading to the beer garden at the Orient.... stayed there until we got moved inside, stayed there until closing, moved on to The Establishment...until closing!! Oh Yeah... and I found $20 on the floor... more free monies!!

Pics from last night as follows....

Me and Ange

Beck and Charmaine

The Boys

L-R: Paul, Rod, Chris, Mina & Matt

Then it started to get a bit messy...

(Although these really aren't the worst of it!!)

Being in the last survivors - I didn't get home till 4am... and being the troopers we are - we all fronted up for work this morning (I was admittedly the last in....but not the first to leave!!) And to top it all off - as I'd staggered up the driveway.... my bridle that I ordered ages ago and I thought was lost in the post...was sat at my door step.... Happy Days!!!

Baby you can drive my car...

When Rob's sister and brother in law Kristi and Darius (Hi Guys!!) decided to move to New York at the end of last year they were looking for some new owners for their mx5. After a bit of discussion we decided to replace Robs excel (before it died in a Barina like saga!!) with the mx5 thus giving it a new home!!!

Anyway - Rob loves it so normally the views i get off it are as follows:

Yep, that's right - I am normally stuck in the passenger seat - Especially since I did this...

To the brand new mags that we had just spent a lot of money on!! Ooooops!!

BUT.....

Poor Rob (Hi Honey!!) had to go away again for a couple of months...

So someone has to keep it going so the battery doesn't go flat!!!!!! (Funny how i never seemed to manage to keep the excel going while he was away, not having any trouble finding time to drivethe mx5!!)

Oh yeah... and did i mention Rob did this to the mags.... Even Stevens!!!
